Luphawk’s movie recommendations part 1: The Man From Earth

As the title states this is my first movie recommendation (I call it a recommendation and not a review because I’m only going to recommend movies I like) and I’m recommending one of my favorite movies that almost none I’ve mentioned it to had heard of “The Man From Earth”.

Despite the lack of action this movie is thought provoking and has a good plot, it is currently on netflix instant where I gave it five stars.

BTW:  for the star trek fans out there this movies was written by Jerome Bixby, writer of, among other things, 4 episodes of star trek the original series (including Mirror, Mirror) and stars 3 actors who have been on star trek.

Warning: I have seen devout Christians who can’t tell the difference between fiction and “mocking god” as I’ve heard some idiots describe it get very upset by this movie.  I put off showing it to my grandmother because I thought she might react similarly to Edith (the “christen literalist” as john calls her) and not only did she react similarly (causing me to pause the movie and calm her down before continuing), she reacted at the same time.  After calming her down we continued the movie and she still didn’t like that part but said it was a good movie.
